Merry Men, a Golden Arrow, and robots aplenty as the Doctor meets a hero of British folklore. There’s whimsy and swashbuckling galore in this interpretation of the classic tale, but sadly Mark Gatiss’ script doesn’t quite hit the bullseye.
In the orginal draft of my "Into The Dalek" review, I noted that there was a striking resemblance between the Heaven that Missy takes the half faced robot to at the end of "Deep Breath", and the ruined garden that Amy finds herself in during "The Girl Who Waited".
I thought this observation deserved a post of it's own, so here it is. These are the two scenes, what do you make of them?
Doctor Who meets Innerspace in this weeks episode, as the Doctor and Clara go on a mercy mission inside an old foe. An interesting concept and, for the most part, quite an entertaining episode. Yeah, I enjoyed this one.

Madame Vastra echoes the immortal words of the Brigadier from the end of Planet of the Spiders, as Pertwee gave way to Baker. It just happens that she also echoed my words as I prepared for the adventures of a new Doctor, one that I had some trepidation about embarking on. Turns out I needn’t have worried unduly, Capaldi’s full debut was pretty damn good. Eventually.
The BBC has announced a new eight episode paranormal drama scheduled to appear on BBC2 this autumn and which stars, John Simm, Mira Sorvino, the fabulous James Frain who has appeared in nearly every show I've really enjoyed over the last few years, True Detective and Sons of Anarchy's Tory Kittles and Once Upon A Time in Wonderland's little Alice, Millie Brown.
In an announcement made at Comic-Con, it was revealed that Alexander Siddig (ST:DS9's Dr.Bashir) will be joining the Game of Thrones cast for Season 5. Siddig will play Doran Martell, ruling lord of Dorne and elder brother of Prince Oberyn.
As we reported a couple of week's ago, Tiger Aspect is creating a new reailty game show called I Survived A Zombie Apocalypse. They are now open for applications for contestants to appear on the show. I don't know about you guys, but I can't think of any better news to start off my week. Due to be produced by Tiger Aspect, I Survived A Zombie Apocalypse will see eight contenstants trapped together in a shopping mall during a full blown invasion of the undead.
I'm intrigued as to how the logistics of the show will play out, but apparently it's a case of one bite and you're out. According to the BBC, "The contestants must live by their wits, make difficult decisions, and use urban survival tactics. Their ultimate goal is to avoid the lethal bite of a zombie and stay alive."
