Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. S02 E02 -Heavy Is The Head
Are you ready ?
Take a deep breath.

Is it just me, or does an episode early in the series that gets you chuckling throughout usher portents of doom for later in the series? And since I don't think there was a good 5 minutes where I didn't give a little guffaw I'm wondering how much of a kicking there's going to be involved later on in the storyline. Plus, this was an episode that let Detective Lional Fusco (Kevin Chapman) out to play somewhat, and it's about time, too!
OK - the pilot is out of the way and we have a series.
We don't need quite so much of the hard sell, we've got the origin out of the way, and we can settle down on the exposition.
A young woman boards a taxi in a panic, she is soon falling from a bridge to her death in the river. The police assume that it's a clear cut suicide. Henry thinks not.
The season premier promised us that we were going to be on a bit of a rollercoaster this series, and the second episode has shown us the first hill to climb before the drop in to uncertain high veolcity hijinks, except that the hill is covered in private military contractors, crazy mathematical problems and a chase to acquire a prize that only the winner will truly appreciate.
Well, Doctor Who has been skirting round the edges of the romance between Clara and Danny for a while now. It was only a matter of a time, I guess, before the Doctor became nothing more than a secondary character in his own show; the writers even brought back the John Smith persona to help him disappear into the background.
The one where the Doctor goes all Ocean’s Eleven and leads a small team to rob the most secure bank in the universe. Only, with less laughs..
Those of us of a certain age will be familiar with a phenomenon in television storytelling known as the Star Trek:TNG effect (Not a legit phenomenon, but if you’ve ever watched an episode of TNG, you know where this is going..)
Previously on Person of Interest... 3 awesome years of captive storytelling, ruthless action and some damned fine suits.
If ever there was a series that needed to hit the ground running this is it.
After a much hyped and anticipated start, with the back-up of the Marvel movies to add an extra punch, much was anticipated.
And it all almost went completely wrong.
The world of US TV is cutthroat. New shows break free from the production egg and take their first tentative baby steps into the light, furiously blinking and trying to see through the harsh glare.
The harsh glare being a well-armed mob holding up giant spotlights.
In this case the mob will also be referring to the "Big Book of other things that Forever will be compared to..."
“Whats that in the mirror, or the corner of your eye?
Whats that footstep following, but never passing by?”
A little late, but here are my thoughts on Episode 4 “Listen”, the one where the Doctor and Clara go to the end of the Universe chasing a nursery rhyme.
