HBO have confirmed that they will be producing a TV adaptation of the 1973 movie which starred Yul Brynner as a waxdroid gone wrong.

If the credits list on this are to be believed it's bound to be an epic show. Exec Produced and Written by Jonathan Nolan (Interstellar, The Dark Knight, Person of Interest) and Lisa Joy (Burn Notice, Pushing Daisies. Exec produced by the multi pie-fingered J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub (Ocean's Eleven, The Karate Kid) and Bryan Burk (LOST, Believe, Fringe, Star Trek). As for the cast list, how do you feel about Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Miranda Otto, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Angela Sarafyan and Simon Quarterman to name but a few.

We're not sure how many episodes there will be but, given it's due to be hour-long episodes, we would imagine it will be somewhere arount the twelve or thirteen mark.

More news as we get it, but in the meanwhile, check out the vines they've posted so far at https://vine.co/hbo
