Incredible Age of Ultron posters

Submitted by Spindles on Sun, 03/08/2014 - 18:40

Fresh out of the Marvel panel at this years SDCC are these incredible posters that start the hype train for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron.

The trailer has yet to be officially released, but reports out of Comic-Con do suggest that we can look forward to seeing an epic Hulkbuster Vs Hulk confrontation.

It certainly looks like Earth's Mightiest Heroes are going to have a hell of a fight on their hands in Joss Whedon's long awaited sequel. I can't wait.

Check out the epic posters below.

Guardians of the Galaxy

My movie reviews usually take me a while to write as I like to get my thoughts together and work through structure.  My efforts this time are being hampered by the fact that I’m listening to the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack and I’m either bent double with laughter or, more frequently as it turns out, dancing round the room doing my own version of the Star Lord strut.  I’m still buzzing, and I’m ready to go see it again.  This film is incredible.

A new trailer has been released for the long awaited sequel to 2005's "Sin City", and it's freaking awesome.

The new movie, in cinemas on the 22nd August, will once again weave together a number of different Sin City tales; and from the look of the trailer it looks as if the story "Family Values" will play as big a part in the film as "A Dame to Kill For"

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is not your average Summer Blockbuster.  Sure, it’s got explosions, monkeys on horseback dual wielding machine guns, and a very simple plotline; but it also has so much more than that.  It has beautiful character moments that would usually hit the cutting room floor, a better standard of acting in the motion caption performances than you’ll see in many blockbusters, and a reflection on the dangers of institutionalised fear, hatred and mistrust.

How To Train Your Dragon 2

It's Dragon time again.

It's 5 years on and we're introduced to new and improved village of Berk, upgraded to be a dragon paradise complete with all the facilities any fiery, flying pet could want. The Viking teens from the first movie are now young adults and it looks like we've been spared the details of the teen angst that would ordinarily occur. Which begs the question of how exactly would a Viking teen rebel? Take up the harp? Start bathing regularly and wearing pinstripe suits?

Except...

Before the Dawn of the Planet of The Apes

With just over a week to go until the UK release of Dawn of The Planet of the Apes, the marketing machine at 20th Century Fox is really kicking into overdrive. Three short films have been released, bridging the ten year gap between Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, that have collectively been called Before the Dawn of the Apes.

Year 1 tells the story of a family split apart by the outbreak of the Simian Flu virus.

Josh Trank for Star Wars spin off

Submitted by Spindles on Wed, 04/06/2014 - 21:49

Chronicle director Josh Trank has been confirmed as director for one of the proposed stand alone Star Wars movies to be released in addition to the new core trilogy. Details are few and far between for now, but I would expect the internet to be ablaze with news in the forthcoming weeks, especially as shooting continues on Episode VII.

Trank states, "The magic of the Star Wars Universe defined my entire childhood. The opportunity to expand on that experience for future generations is the most incredible dream of all time."

It’s that time of year again folks, Summer Blockbuster season.  Traditionally tied to Memorial Day weekend at the end of May in the US, it has been creeping earlier in May for a while now.

One could argue that it started back in March this year with the release of Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier.  For the sake of those films coming out over the next few months though, it’s probably best if we keep Cap 2 separate; you know, to give these guys a fighting chance.
